Our goal as graphic designers is to create a satisfactory design output and meet client expectation. In achieving this, we must give emphasis on building a relationship with our clients. Interdependency is the line of connection wherein the relationship of the designer and client is developed by reciprocity, mutual respect and shared benefits.

A relationship that must operate in an enabling environment, where both parties attempt to maximize the benefits of design negotiation and collaboration.  Clients need to be clear with their requirements but not over prescriptive. Graphic designers, on the other hand, need a degree of freedom to innovate but within the boundaries set by the client. Because both parties are aware of their limitations and vested interests, interdependency sets conditions for the realization of a successful design output.
